About Pixelfarming Robotics At Pixelfarming Robotics, we develop cutting-edge robotic solutions for modern growers. Our flagship product, Robot One, is an autonomous weeding robot that uses precise laser technology to remove weeds. Operating on a “scan and act” principle, growers first conduct a scan run of their field, capturing images that are uploaded to the Pixelfarming Academy—a cloud platform where these scans are converted into plant models. By labeling crops and weeds, growers train the plant model to accurately detect and target unwanted plants for laser removal.
Currently, this technology is deployed on multiple robots, but we aim to take it a step further by detecting the structure of plants. By identifying specific parts such as stems, leaves, veins, centers, and flowers, we can improve targeting efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize collateral damage.
Your Role As an intern, you will collaborate with our software team to develop a method for detecting and distinguishing plant structures using computer vision techniques. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of precision weeding technology.
Your project has a positive impact on the agricultural transition worldwide. During your internship you will work at our campus in Almkerk. In the middle of the countryside is our headquarters where we design and test our robots. Because our goal is to make healthy food from healthy soil, we of course offer great lunches. You will become a member of our team and enjoy the various get-togethers and parties.
Are you interested in becoming part of our company? Then don’t hesitate to send an email to work@pixelfarmingrobotics.com or apply via the contact form below. During our first meeting we will discuss your learning goals and expectations. Together we will find a fitting project for you.
