The theory behind
Laser Technology
Answers all your burning questions
What is a Laser unit?
A laser consists of a CO2 laser tube, targeting mechanism, cooling and the essential electronics. A row of lasers within Robot One is called a laser module. The number of single lasers in a module can defer depending on the configuration of your machine.
How does a Laser work?
A carbon dioxide laser uses a mix of gases charged with high voltage to store energy in the CO2 molecules. When infrared light hits these energized molecules, they release even more light in a chain reaction. By bouncing the light between mirrors, the laser amplifies it into a powerful, precise beam.
The Effect of Laser
The laserbeam uses the produced light to boil the liquids in the plant cells, causing the plantcells to burst apart. This creates an exothermic reaction that generates heat, effectively eliminating the plant. The lasers are most effective in the two-leaf stadium of the weed, due to the perfect balance between the energy usage and the ability to detect the plant.
